I've tried to write this blog post too many times... and everytime I struggle to articulate my feelings and thoughts.

The air and atmosphere has been so heavy lately.
It's crazy  that racism still exists and people have no compassion and understanding for other human beings.
Where is the humanity?
I have been so drained and distraught by every death, attack and the lack of justice.
The only time I felt empowered was when I went to the  Black Lives Matter Protest but to be honest it was bitter sweet.
I can't believe I had to protest about  Black Lives and  Racism in 2020.
Protesting against police brutality, murders,MODERN DAY SLAVERY.
Human beings being killed, caged, sold, treated like property and abused in every shape and form.
I've watched documentaries where Women have travelled to the Middle East for work and to provide for their families. They were kidnapped by their "employers" passports taken, raped, abused and some were even set on fire!
Documentaries where innocent teenaged boys have been wrongly profiled and charged for crimes they didn't commit. No concrete evidence, years of their lives stolen. Left traumastised and broken from the Prison System. Families were imprisoned in their homes or evicted and left homeless during the lockdown in China and refused entry to  supermarkets and shops. Most of these horrific incidents / injustices have never been  in the mainstream media or STOPPED and ARE STILL HAPPENING TODAY!
Why? Don't Black Lives Matter?
Black Lives have been Murdered,Taken,Stolen and abused around the World throughout history.
Have we not learnt anything?
How is this still happening?
It baffles me how people can hold so much hatred for someone  just because of the colour of their skin and disregard the value of their life.
Racism is still alive in the UK it's not just in the US and I'm sure it's in many other places.
The Far Right protest made me sick to my stomach and took me back to my teens.
When I was 14 I was racially attack by a group of white men. They chanted racist abuse all through my bus journey and one of the men spat in my face, called me a Nigga and tried to attack me.  I've never been so scared, angry and disrepected. Thank God his friend dragged him off the bus because I don't know what else would of happened.

It's sad to say that my Grandparents,Parents and myself have all been subjected to racism.
In the workplace,in school, on the streets.
From being called a Black Monkey,Nigga,Black bastard to being attacked with rocks.
Getting jumped,Skinheads trying to push their baby and pram into busy roads.
Being spat in the face, racially profiled by Police, marginalised and stereotyped,
disrepected and left out. Being treated differently in every aspect whether it's overtly extreme racism or institutionalised.
My younger cousin has already been racially attacked and bullied in school and my mixed race brothers are already feeling the weight of the World.
I don't want my unborn children to be hated, judged or attacked just because of the colour of their skin....
I hope this knowledge and personal experiences are thought provoking and can help people see things/the world from another perspective.
Just because you don't personally experience racism doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

I pray for change,more love,compassion and equality.

Last but not least - please watch this powerful speech by Michael Anthony Holding.
Jamaican cricket commentator and former cricketer .

He beautifully articulates the views and thoughts that I personally have and really puts things into perspective.
